Merry Christmas!

 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you;
he is the Messiah, the Lord. Luke 2:11

A day of celebration! We enjoyed a wonderful day full of love and family.

Plus, we woke up on Christmas morning with two healthy kids. Yeah!

James was so excited to see... Santa brought him a bike!

Keeping the tradition- the kids opened up their ornaments for 2012.

Everyone had a fun and relaxing morning at home.

Uncle Brett and Papi sporting their new headlamps!

Grateful to have my brother home for the holidays.

James l-o-v-e-s Uncle Brett!

Silly play with Papi.

Such a wonderful morning with my family!

The Christmas fun continued as we celebrated with Grandpa Knight.

James was (and still is) totally fascinated with his REAL train!

After some Christmas treats it was outside to break in that new bike!

Didn't take him long!

The big day continued at Tutu and Papi's for dinner and a surprise for the kids...

Watch the video and you'll see... Mikayla knew exactly what to do! She opened the door, walked right in, and grabbed the phone. That's my girl!

It's so special having a mini-me! Love our sweet daughter.

James has grown into the sweetest, most caring big brother this last year.
These two make me smile!

Three generations.

A wonderful Christmas day!

Christmas Eve

We started the day with a holiday tradition- making and decorating sugar cookies, or "tooties" as James calls them!

Mikayla could only observe the festivities last year, so she was excited to participate this year!

James is becoming a pro at baking.
He gets lots of practice with Mom and Grandma!

His favorite part- applying the sprinkles.

Similar to last year, some cookies got (tons) more sprinkles than others!

Of course, Mikayla wanted to try!

Later in the evening: We stayed at the Backman family Christmas party just long enough for James to lose his lunch at dinner. With that, we decided to have a low key Christmas Eve at home! Luckily the kids perked up once they had a bath and their pajamas.

We put out cookies for Santa.

And carrots for his reindeer.

So much excitement on this special night!

To say that James was excited is an understatement!
You'll get an idea when you watch the video!

Such a magical season we are in. :)
