Leavenworth 2011

In keeping with tradition, Matt and I planned for our annual trip to Leavenworth. We started coming to Leavenworth for the Christmas tree lighting in 2007, when Kona was just a puppy.

Great memories.

Check out our very first trailer!

Last year, James was just a newborn so we didn't make it in time for the tree lighting.

He was so tiny! I loved his reindeer snowsuit!

Precious.

This year was our best trip yet.  James got all ready for the big road trip...

First stop in Leavenworth: Our favorite hot dog place, "Munchen Haus".

They have great outdoor, heated seating.

Then a walk through town. These three good lookin guys got quite a bit of attention from others passing by. What a cute bunch!

Finding leaves...

Mmmmm Dad.... look at all these pretzels!!!

 My boys!

Later we headed  back to the camper for some rest. James' favorite new game:

Hilarious!

Mom's favorite stop:

Candy apples!

Beautiful holiday decor:

There is a hill in town where all the kids sled, late into the night. This will be James in a few years, and we'll be the parents sitting on the bleachers with hot chocolate!

Maybe a carriage ride next year...

Here's our little guy, all bundled up! I love his smile, he likes to show his teeth now!

Weekend Home:

Kona sure has grown!

Until next year, Leavenworth...

It was snowing like crazy on the way home. Good thing Matt is an experienced snow driver! Pics taken from the truck:

Happy Birthday Dad!

For my dad's birthday this year we got together for a little family celebration.

Peking Wok has the best Chinese food in Federal Way. My dad has been taking me there since I can remember. So I picked up an order to go and got a mud pie, all his favorites!

A special celebration for a special man. Love you dad!

James loves his Grandpa too!

Purple and Gold

As a proud UW alumni, I wanted to take Matt and James up to my old stomping grounds and show them around.  It was fun to go by some of the places I used to live.

I also wanted to check out the new business school. Balmer Hall, or "Balmer High" as we used to call it, was demolished and replaced by the new Paccar Business School. So modern!

It was a gorgeous day for a walk through campus. In the fall the leaves really make this a beautiful sight.

Kane Hall- where I would go for my large lecture classes.

The pond was frozen over today...

I'd forgotten how many squirrels there are on campus! It used to be an ongoing joke that they were going to take over.  They aren't afraid of humans at all!

Lunch at the Ram and then some shopping in University Village. A great day!

Christmas In a Nutshell

Christmas was so fun this year.  James is getting bigger and can show more excitement when it comes to celebrations.

This was also our first Christmas in the new house, which was very special.

A great opportunity to start some new Christmas traditions!

Stockings and gifts...

Playing toys with dad...

Later we had Christmas at Tutu and Papi's. More new toys to enjoy!

A fun family time.

Then we went to see Grandpa, Liza and Clara.

Having fun!

And more new traditions!!

Merry Christmas!
