Favorite Pillow

Kona is everyone's favorite kitchen lounge chair / pillow.

Mikayla: 16 months (January 2013)

James: 16 months (April 2011)

Kona is looking older! Notice the gray on his shoulder in Mikayla's picture...

Lunch

This is the peanut butter and jelly face:

And this is Kona as he ever faithfully sits next to Mikayla at each and every meal, hoping she will drop something, or pity him and throw him a scrap (which she always does)!

Hey Good Lookin'

Welcome 2013!

2012 was a fantastic year for our family. James and Mikayla are growing and learning. Matt and I are loving our time with them and also finding new ways to enjoy our moments as just husband and wife!  We are really feeling settled in to our community and are finding more ways to get involved and connected.  Just the other night we were talking about some of our goals, old and new, short term and long term. It's exciting to think of everything ahead of us that we have to look forward to! We are excited to see what the Lord has in store for our family in 2013!

Our New Year's Eve celebration was low key. We enjoyed dinner with Tutu and Papi and then had a mini driveway firework celebration. Caught with my iPhone:

Watching the light show!

A little too close to those fireworks!

The first day of 2013 was gorgeous! Matt had the day off with us so we headed to our favorite park / bike path to play and soak up some sun. It was also the perfect opportunity for me to play with some of the new camera gear I got for Christmas!

Happy on his new big boy bike!

:)

I love these moments of bliss!

James loved the frozen puddles. We came back to this park a few weeks later and REALLY got into these puddles... stay tuned... :)

This one napped the whole time!
I guess New Year's parties are exhausting!

USNA Dinner

We attended a formal Navy dinner with my brother and parents back in December. It was fun!

The kids went to Grandma and Grandpa B's for the night while we enjoyed an evening of dinner and dancing.  I love any reason to have Matt in a tux! :)

Babies

Every day I learn and discover new things with my son and daughter... I am finding there are so many differences between little boys and little girls! While James has brought a fun, wild, rough-and-tumble adventure to each day, my little girl fills my days with babies, (pretend) make-up, lotion, and brushing hair! I am grateful for all of the experiences...

Mikayla especially loves her baby dolls. She has a bedtime baby, daytime baby, bath baby... you get the idea. So sweet.

Merry Christmas!

 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you;
he is the Messiah, the Lord. Luke 2:11

A day of celebration! We enjoyed a wonderful day full of love and family.

Plus, we woke up on Christmas morning with two healthy kids. Yeah!

James was so excited to see... Santa brought him a bike!

Keeping the tradition- the kids opened up their ornaments for 2012.

Everyone had a fun and relaxing morning at home.

Uncle Brett and Papi sporting their new headlamps!

Grateful to have my brother home for the holidays.

James l-o-v-e-s Uncle Brett!

Silly play with Papi.

Such a wonderful morning with my family!

The Christmas fun continued as we celebrated with Grandpa Knight.

James was (and still is) totally fascinated with his REAL train!

After some Christmas treats it was outside to break in that new bike!

Didn't take him long!

The big day continued at Tutu and Papi's for dinner and a surprise for the kids...

Watch the video and you'll see... Mikayla knew exactly what to do! She opened the door, walked right in, and grabbed the phone. That's my girl!

It's so special having a mini-me! Love our sweet daughter.

James has grown into the sweetest, most caring big brother this last year.
These two make me smile!

Three generations.

A wonderful Christmas day!
