Potholes State Park

We had the BEST weekend with friends.
We were so happy the Olson, Kelly, and Millard families could join us.
We all made the trip over to Potholes State Park where we camped, fished, the kids played, and everyone soaked up some much needed sunshine!

Friday we arrived to a warm eastern Washington day, perfect for pool time. The boys were definitely up for it!

Notice how excited James is as Matt fills the pool!

Aubrey and James- so cute in their sun gear.
(I wish James would let me put a hat on him!)

They splashed and played all night.

The kids had a great time riding bikes and pushing toys.

Aubrey was showing off his newly acquired walking skills!

James gave Ginger a ride on the tricycle.

Taking a break to play with Kona.

Darla, Lola and Ginger enjoyed the sand box thoroughly.
In fact, all the kids were covered in sand by the end of each day.

The park had an awesome big toy.
The kids spent hours running around and going down the slides.

Check it out!

Darla is a slide pro!

Check out that big smile! Laughing all the way!

The lakes were beautiful.

The kids enjoyed running around and watching Kona swim.

And of course, James had to give the water a try as well. Our little fish!

A little time in the sand box...

Bubbles were enjoyed all weekend long!

Fun memories made by the campfire.

This might be the cutest thing I've ever seen.
Here's James taking Kona for a walk.

Turns out, Kona was really taking James along for the ride...

Hanging out, reading books in the bunk bed.

Our attempts to get a kid photo:

We tried.

James and Ginger stuck around after the group shot to enjoy some red vines.

Pals.

On our last day we headed over to Warden Lake.

Beautiful views on the drive!

This kid loves to fish- well, he loves fishing poles for sure.

Is that not a look of pure bliss?

Happy Ginger Mae!

Darla and Lola caught the first fish of the day!

Reeling it in...

What a catch!

Ginger wanted a close up.

James too. As soon as it was his turn to touch the fish,
he walked right up to it and grabbed it- no fear whatsoever.
Such a boy!

Jamie preferred fishing with the pink Barbie rod.

It was the perfect weekend. Everyone had so much fun, and the kids played so well together. James was exhausted and slept great every night.  He was in such a great mood when we got home, I wish we could spend every weekend having such an awesome time! I think we've started a new annual tradition!
