Expecting

It's official!

Matt and I are expecting our second bundle of joy,
due September 10, 2011!

We are overjoyed and grateful to grow our family. James has brought so much joy into our lives, and we can't wait to do it all over again!

I think that James is going to love having a new playmate. He's getting to that age where he loves to play with other kids. We think that a little brother or sister is the best gift we can give him!
They will be 21 months apart, perfect for playing together.

Speaking of brother or sister, we are going to leave that a mystery this time around. With James, we found out at our ultrasound that we were having a boy. It was exciting to learn the news. This time around, we want to experience the alternative- keeping it a surprise. Plus, it's a win-win situation- another boy, James will have a best friend and buddy, and we already have all the boy gear! If it's a girl, how wonderful, we will have one of each! So we are leaving that news to the big day.

Here's our little bean at 7 weeks:

And here he/she is at 12 weeks. The growth and change is amazing!

At twelve weeks along, I am glad to be entering the second trimester. I was queasy for most of the first trimester, but I feel that slowly improving.

Belly at 12 weeks:

It certainly feels like I've "popped" much sooner than I did with James. I hear that is common with second pregnancies. I am grateful to Melanie for passing along her incredible maternity wardrobe! This pregnancy is going to be awesome!

I am so excited for the journey that awaits us. Matt is an incredible father and husband, and has been incredibly supportive over the past few months- late night runs to Wendys, grocery store for apples, and for almonds (mostly healthy cravings...).

We are grateful to all of our friends and family who have been keeping us and the new baby in their prayers, and ask that you continue to do so.

Our little blessing is on its way!

My Valentines

Matt planned a nice little date night for us this year to celebrate Valentine's Day. We went out the weekend before Valentine's Day, so that we could sleep in the following day and avoid the crowds.  James got to spend the night at Grandma Backman's.

First stop: McCormick and Schmick's seafood restaurant on Lake Union. It was a stormy day and we enjoyed watching the wind and rain from our window table inside.

Next stop was Pike Place Market.
I love to go and explore and look at the flowers and trinkets.

So much excitment happening, all the time!

Beautiful, vibrant tulips remind me that spring is just around the corner.
I can't wait!

After the market, the plan was to go see a movie, but to be honest, we are such home bodies! We wanted to go home and watch a Netflix by the fire, in our sweats.
Lame I know, but perfect for us!

But first, my weakness- Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory!
Matt knows this is my favorite.

Perfect for Valentine's Day- a candy holiday!

Matt told me later that he'd considered getting us a place to stay downtown for the night, but that he knows me better.

This was my idea of the perfect night! Total relaxation!

Monday was the official Valentine's Day holiday.
I made chicken parmesan and we had a family night.

James got balloons, his favorite.

Matt got me roses- but not a dozen in a vase.

I'm not a huge fan of flowers on Valentine's Day, seems so cliche.

Perfect :)

I love my Valentines (yes, plural!). Story time to end the day.

XOXO

Sunsets

I wanted to share some of the beautiful sunsets we've enjoyed in Bonney Lake.

The other night we were all in the backyard when our next door neighbor came by. She told us that we will get to enjoy these gifts every night during summertime! Can't wait!

Incredible!

Little Moments

It's the seemingly insignificant moments that are the fabric of life.

I named our blog after these moments,
because they are incredibly precious to me.

James: "Dad... I lost my ball under the couch."

Dad: "I'll help you James."

Kona: "Me too, me too, I'm here, let me in."

Teamwork.

Success!

More precious moments:

Pushing my zebra back and forth, around and around, all throughout the house.
(Notice Kona close by, always protecting James...)

Just chillin', catching up on my Sesame Street, loving Dad's comfy chair...

Helping Mom clean up, doing the dusting for her...

And let's not forget piggy back rides with Dad.

We are so blessed.
