After the birthday parties, we focused on Christmas and its true meaning.
We wanted to put up a tree and decorate, but with the move there was only so much we could do. We ended up buying a tree from a stand this year. Next year I hope to pick up the tradition of going to our tree farm again. Matt and I have been going to the same tree farm since our first Christmas together, and I'm excited for James to see it.
This year's tree had just our family ornaments (most are James'!)

I strategically placed these two "ornaments" near the bottom of the tree, because I knew James wouldn't be able to resist all of the shiny temptations! These were actually my baby toys.
Success! James loved pulling these two off, and he wouldn't go for the other ornaments. He had so much fun!
Last year we started a tradition of finding James a special ornament each year, so that someday he will have his own collection.
